Today was the day I left American soil for at least a year. It has only been 2 hours since I got to the airport and now sitting on the flight with more than 98% of the flight being Asian I think it may have finally kicked in that I’m MOVING TO CHINA!!
From standing in line at security, being bumped into the entire time to now sitting on the flight ready for takeoff, all I can think is “Huh?! How much stuff do they think will stuff into this plane?!” It’s like a clown car or as a professor of mine has shown a truly ‘full’ jar. A jar filled with rocks, asking if it’s full, and then adding larger pebbles, then smaller pebbles, then sand and to top it all off…water! That is the best way to describe this flight. They put in their luggage, then their carry on then their backpacks then the items they bought at the duty free shop, their purses or man purse (“murse”), their coats…ohh I forgot to mention, this is all going into the overhead! Haha, I’m just hoping we don’t hit any turbulence…I’m on the isle. Ahhh, a pillow…
Well that little nap didn’t last very long at all. But luckily the flight has been well stocked with movies
and snacks…one of the snacks I had no idea what it was, but it was tasty. For dinner, who doesn’t like chicken and rice?! That’s the epitome of “Chinese food”, right?! With a side of strange cheesecake, minus the crust…yummy.
The flight was long, don’t get me wrong but with the intermittent naps that I did get, the movies and the
snacks a 14-hour flight = not so bad.
