Wow, what a crazy few months it has been!
First, there was the selection of school, then the incessant emails back and forth to confirm or deny different parts of the contract. Then, more emails of questions…and for those of you that know me best, you know I can come up with a lot of questions, especially if I’m only given part of the information. I’m pretty sure that my school administrator probably wanted to strangle me and my never-ending questions and confirmations, but rather, he has been very helpful throughout this entire process.
After the initial shock of me moving (ALL OF THE WAY TO CHINA?!), my family and friends have been very supportive and helpful. So thanks to those reading this! (*Squeals Love you bunches!) The moving process was made easier by my lovely friend, who has kindly stowed my belongings in her basement as well as had a forced kitty adoption and did not complain a bit (…well maybe a bit on the run-walk from the NYC Chinese Consulate to the Library
and back). Thanks E!
I only had a couple of speed bumps during this whole process; I hope that the rest goes just as smooth. (*crosses fingers)
Finding out that China was about 8,500 miles away from mainland America was a shock and then to find out that my city, Wenzhou, has 9.4 million people. (FYI--NYC has approx. 8 million) But do you think I was taken back…nope! It just made me want to do it even more than ever. I’m definitely ready for this adventure…well maybe; I suppose I should make sure that I have toothpaste.
